Nick & Neeka// Surprise Engagement in Hatcher Pass, Alaska

Back in July, Neeka reached out to me to let me know that her and Nick were coming on a quick trip to Alaska. It has been on their bucket list for years and they decided to make it happen this year for their two year anniversary. πŸ’ͺ🏽 We chatted on the phone and she told me they would be in Palmer for a few days and she wanted a place with really epic, but easily accessible, mountain top views. Insert Summit Lake.

Well, the day of their session arrives and it is POURING in the valley so of course, it’s not going to be clear skies up there but I was hopeful maybe we could get above the clouds… but alas no.

They decided to trek on anyway cause you only come to Alaska once. Well that, and what Neeka didn’t know was that Nick had already reached out to me and had plans to ask Neeka to be his wife on this session! 😍

We started off our shoot like any other and then a few minutes in I told Nick to walk away from her and then run up behind her and grab her. Well, he didn’t so Neeka turned around and there was Nick down on one knee.

Obviously she said yes!!! And that ring is GORG!!!

We continued the rest of our shoot in the rain & they were absolute troopers. I know Hatcher Pass will always have a special place in their hearts & I am so thankful they chose me to capture their memories for them.

I CANNOT wait to photograph their wedding next September in Illinois! AHH! Freaking dream!!!
