Adventurous Wedding In The Woods Of Seward, Alaska

Tucked away in the stunning Seward, Alaska is the Tonsina Trail – the perfect woodsy hiking spot for couples looking to have an adventurous wedding in the woods. Gillian and Frank did just that with their nature-packed wedding. Let me tell you, they picked such a beautiful spot to tie the knot. Surrounded by the beauty of the surrounding area, we were able to capture some gorgeous photos. I loved the trees reaching for the sky and the waves gently crashing nearby – it was pure magic. Overall, Tonsina Trail perfectly reflected Gillian and Frank’s adventurous personalities. I can’t believe I was lucky enough to capture their love story.

I had the privilege of getting to know Gillian and Frank and their amazing ideas for their wedding in the woods. They actually met while they were working in the wilderness for the Alaska State Parks. So, it makes sense as to why they wanted their wedding to have a “hike with a side of marriage.” They gathered up a group of about 35 of their closest friends and family members to celebrate their love story among dense forests and mountain creeks. It was a beautiful blend of Gillian and Frank’s outdoorsy spirits and their love journey. This day will definitely be forever remembered by them and all who hiked alongside them on their special day.

The perfect location for a wedding in the woods

I hiked with Gillian and Frank along the Tonsina Trail to the perfect clearing in the woods for their ceremony. The towering trees all around us provided an incredible backdrop for the heartfelt moments that unfolded. Following the ceremony, we celebrated by popping some champagne and making toasts. Also, we got to take some stunning photos in the woods and even on the nearby beaches. It was a great day full of good vibes, good company, and beautiful nature. This wedding in the woods was definitely one for the books!
