Romantic Anniversary Session | Alaska Wedding Photographer

There was something extra special in the air for this romantic anniversary session with Maddie & Stephen.

When Maddie & Stephen reached out to me to document their 2 year anniversary images, I was so touched. Maddie is a fellow photographer, and I wanted to make sure she got the images of her dreams. But another reason the session was so special is that Stephen just recently went through a cancer diagnosis & treatment.

There is a very unique bond that happens between two people when they go through something that serious & difficult together. You could sense it between Maddie & Stephen, and I think you can see it in the photos too. They are close. Like, understand the other one without words, close.

They have walked through immense unknown together, and that bonds you to someone in ways that normal life cannot. I absolutely love their love, and the way they are with each other. It’s something almost tangible, and what an honor to capture that dynamic between them.

I am SO SO happy to also share that Stephen overcame his battle with cancer this year. (!!!!!) So not only was this a romantic anniversary session for their 2 year mark, but it was a freaking CELEBRATION of his remission.

You appreciate life more when you go through something like cancer, I think. And these two were FULL OF LIFE. You will see in these photos - their laughter, their joy, their shared unspoken moments.

I could photograph them all day.
